…late 19th century original oil head study on board circa 1878 based on writing found on back. this painting is modeled after an original by Giuseppe Maraschini (1839-1903), of a head study painting of a roman child. the artist looks to be g. benelli based on both the signature on the front and scribble in the back. there are a few artists in the late 19th century with the same or similar names that this could have belonged to. a very special piece indeed.
